AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-6-13, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DELETE THE PROVISION THAT PROHIBITS PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS WHO RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY FROM BEING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM; TO AUTHORIZE ANY SUCH SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER TO ELECT TO JOIN THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM BY NOTIFYING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
