AN ACT TO CREATE THE NORTH MISSISSIPPI WORKFORCE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT FUND AS A SPECIAL FUND IN THE STATE TREASURY; TO PROVIDE THAT THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT SECURITY SHALL ADMINISTER THE FUND AND DISBURSE THE MONIES IN THE FUND TO THE FOUR WORKFORCE INVESTMENT AREAS OVER A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS; TO PROVIDE THAT MONIES IN THE FUND SHALL BE USED TO IMPROVE THE WORKFORCE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT AT THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE; TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE FISCAL OFFICER SHALL TRANSFER THE FULL BALANCE IN THE MISSISSIPPI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY JOB TRAINING GRANT FUND INTO THE NORTH MISSISSIPPI WORKFORCE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT FUND; TO REPEAL SECTION 57-1-451, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH CREATED THE MISSISSIPPI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY JOB TRAINING GRANT FUND; TO AMEND SECTIONS 27-65-75 AND 57-73-21, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
