AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT A QUALIFIED ELECTOR WHO WISHES TO REGISTER TO VOTE MAY REGISTER ON THE DAY OF THE ELECTION AND THEN PROCEED TO CAST HIS OR HER VOTE AT THE PROPER POLLING PLACE; TO PROVIDE THE LOCATION TO CONDUCT THE REGISTRATION ON ELECTION DAY; TO PROVIDE THE IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED TO BE PRESENTED IN ORDER TO REGISTER TO VOTE ON ELECTION DAY; TO PROVIDE THE PROCEDURES THAT POLL MANAGERS SHALL IMPLEMENT WHEN A PERSON REGISTERS TO VOTE ON ELECTION DAY; TO PROVIDE THAT ELECTION DAY REGISTRATION BALLOTS SHALL BE TREATED THE SAME AS ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES; TO AUTHORIZE THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO PROMULGATE THE NECESSARY RULES AND REGULATIONS TO EFFECTUATE SAME DAY VOTER REGISTRATION; TO BRING FORWARD SECTIONS 23-15-11, 23-15-13, 23-15-17, 23-15-31, 23-15-33, 23-15-35, 23-15-37, 23-15-39, 23-15-41, 23-15-43, 23-15-45, 23-15-47, 23-15-49, 23-15-113, 23-15-115, 23-15-121, 23-15-123, 23-15-125, 23-15-135, 23-15-153 AND 23-15-161, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF POSSIBLE AMENDMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
