AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 43-26-3, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT ALL INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLIENTS OF EMPLOYEES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES WHO PROVIDE SERVICES TO OR OTHERWISE WORK DIRECTLY WITH CLIENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT IS CONFIDENTIAL, AND TO PROHIBIT THOSE EMPLOYEES OF THE DEPARTMENT FROM DISCLOSING ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLIENTS TO ANY OTHER PERSON, EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZED; TO PROVIDE THAT ANY EMPLOYEE OF THE DEPARTMENT WHO DISCLOSES OR ENCOURAGES THE DISCLOSURE OF ANY INFORMATION PROHIBITED FROM DISCLOSURE IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR PUNISHABLE BY A FINE AND IMPRISONMENT; TO BRING FORWARD SECTIONS 43-21-257, 43-21-259, 43-21-261, 43-21-267 AND 43-21-353, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH RELATE TO THE CONFIDENTIALITY AND AUTHORIZED DISCLOSURE OF RECORDS INVOLVING CHILDREN, FOR THE PURPOSES OF POSSIBLE AMENDMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
