AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 43-21-322, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO ADOPT RULES SETTING STANDARDS FOR JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITIES; TO AMEND SECTION 37-3-5, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO OVERSEE THE ENFORCEMENT OF JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITY LICENSING STANDARDS RELATED TO EDUCATION; TO AMEND SECTION 43-21-323, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM; TO BRING FORWARD SECTION 43-21-321, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM; TO BRING FORWARD SECTION 43-21-324, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM; TO BRING FORWARD SECTION 43-21-325, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM; TO AUTHORIZE A STATE CONTRACT FOR LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION SERVICES AT JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITIES; TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH TO ESTABLISH A TREATMENT FACILITY FOR TEENAGED GIRLS WITH SUBSTANCE-ABUSE PROBLEMS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
