AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 19-5-189, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT IF TAXABLE REAL PROPERTY IN A FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT IS ANNEXED BY A MUNICIPALITY, THEN NO AD VALOREM TAX MAY BE LEVIED ON THE PROPERTY SIMULTANEOUSLY BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY AND THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE MUNICIPALITY FOR FIRE PROTECTION PURPOSES; TO PROVIDE THAT IF A FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT SUSTAINS A LOSS OF AD VALOREM TAX REVENUE DUE TO ANNEXATION BY A MUNICIPALITY THEN THE MUNICIPALITY SHALL REIMBURSE THE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT FOR THE AMOUNT OF THE LOSS FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS; TO AMEND SECTIONS 21-1-27 AND 21-1-61, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, IN CONFORMITY THERETO; TO BRING FORWARD SECTIONS 19-5-151, 19-5-153, 19-5-155, 19-5-157, 19-5-159, 19-5-164, 19-5-165, 19-5-167, 19-5-175, 19-5-177, 19-5-181, 19-5-183, 19-5-187, 19-5-195, 19-5-201, 19-5-204 AND 19-5-205, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH AUTHORIZE THE CREATION OF FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTS IN UNINCORPORATED AREAS IN COUNTIES, FOR THE PURPOSES OF AMENDMENT; TO BRING FORWARD SECTIONS 21-25-21, 21-25-25, 21-25-27, 21-25-29 AND 21-25-31, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF ANY MUNICIPALITY TO CREATE A FIRE DISTRICT WITHIN OR ADJOINING THE MUNICIPALITY, FOR THE PURPOSES OF AMENDMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
