AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 5-1-43, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CLARIFY THAT, IN ADDITION TO THEIR ANNUAL SALARIES, THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR AND SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE RECEIVE THE SAME COMPENSATION, MILEAGE AND EXPENSE ALLOWANCES PROVIDED BY LAW FOR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATURE; TO AMEND SECTION 5-1-45, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CLARIFY THAT, IN ADDITION TO HIS SALARY, THE PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE RECEIVES THE SAME COMPENSATION, MILEAGE AND EXPENSE ALLOWANCES PROVIDED BY LAW FOR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATURE; TO AMEND SECTION 5-1-46, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROHIBIT THE SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FROM RECEIVING ANY COMPENSATION IN ADDITION TO THAT PROVIDED BY LAW, EXCEPT WHEN HE IS SERVING AS SPEAKER DURING THE ABSENCE, ILLNESS OR DISABILITY OF THE SPEAKER; TO CLARIFY THAT, IN ADDITION TO HIS SALARY, THE SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE RECEIVES THE SAME COMPENSATION, MILEAGE AND EXPENSE ALLOWANCES PROVIDED BY LAW FOR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATURE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
